Screening for scoliosis

Screening for scoliosis is conducted with the Adam's forward bend test. A positive result is demonstrated by asymmetry of the ribs and flanks. A brace to treat scoliosis should be worn at all times, except when showering. Educate patients to wear a thin t-shirt or tank-top underneath the brace to protect the skin.
