How do these cards work? Do I still need to read my book word for word?
A lot of people have used the cards along with the videos and done very well, without reading the book word for word. However everyone is different! We have a video here that explains how to use the cards. For example, the Medical-Surgical flashcards are A LOT of cards—studying with them for an hour or two a day is WAY better than trying to study for MANY hours in just a few days.
Are these cards useful for someone in a PN program?
The flashcards should absolutely be helpful for PN students, as well as RN students. Our understanding is that the RN and PN materials are nearly identical, so the information should be applicable.
Do the Pharmacology flashcards include ALL the meds in my pharmacology book?
The cards don't contain ALL the meds in the pharmacology materials, but they do contain most of them. We tried to just include the most important ones, so that people wouldn't be overwhelmed. For example, there are dozens of chemo drugs, but we only included a few that we felt are most important for ATI, NCLEX, and HESI. Another example are the ADHD meds for kids. Our experience is that the standard exams only ask about a couple of them, so that is all we included. Even with leaving out less important meds, there are still a lot!
How should I cite Level Up RN flashcards as a reference?
This will depend what citation style you are using (APA, Chicago, etc.)
Within your chosen citation style, we suggest that you cite our flashcards the way you would cite a book, but with an organization instead of an author.
Be sure to provide page number citations within your in-text citations to the exact card number(s) where you found the information.
Note: some professors may not be willing to accept sources that are not books or journals.
Example:
Level Up RN. (2023). Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Flashcards.

What is the best way to use Flashables?
There are no WRONG ways to use Flashables! We recommend diving right in with the big STUDY NOW button. Any time you hit STUDY NOW, whether you are in a subject or a smaller stack of flashcards, the learning system will track how you score each flashcard and where you leave off. When you come back, you can pick right back up where you left off, and over time the system will show you the flashcards that you don't know as well more frequently and those that you've mastered less frequently.
How do I add flashcards to my Saved Content list?
- You can add any flashcard to your Favorite Cards by clicking the small orange Save button on the bottom left corner of your screen while on any flashcard.
- Click it a second time (the button will now say "Saved" and will be dark magenta) and you can remove it from your Favorites!
- OR When viewing any subject or smaller stack, scroll down to view the list of cards. You can add any card to your Favorite Cards by clicking the gray heart icon next to the card title. It will turn dark magenta to indicate that it has been added to your Favorite Cards!
- Additionally, you can add an entire sub-stack of flashcards to your Saved Content by clicking on the grey heart icon next to the sub-stack name.
How does Flashables scoring work?
Scoring is at the heart of the Flashables experience.
You will have 3 options: (IDK?!, Learning, and Leveled UP) when you flip each flashcard.
- Tap the IDK?! icon if you are completely unfamiliar with the content on the flashcard.
- Choose the Learning icon if you are somewhat familiar with the content on the flashcard but need some reminding.
- Choose the Leveled Up icon if you are confident you really understand the material.
