Intussusception is a condition marked by the small intestine "telescoping" in on itself and causing an obstruction. Children with this condition are likely to have severe abdominal pain, a sausage-shaped mass in the RUQ, vomiting, and stool with "currant jelly" appearance and consistency. The treatment AND diagnosis for this condition is an air enema.
